Tacet
is one of the successful "small" audiophile labels
in the world. They have their special profile, catalogue and
recording technique. Andreas Spreer of Tacet invented the "Real
Surround Sound" which places the listener right in the
middle of the orchestra. Up to now the catalogue consists af
roughly 150 recordings. Most of them are recorded "tube
only" without any transistor in the signal path.
Tacet recordings are available on HQ vinyl, CD, SACD and DVDA
many of them in more than one format. So Andreas Spreer is not
the one who lets other people or even huge companies dictate
the format in which his
recordings can be enjoyed.
Tacet has been exhibiting at High End shows for several years
now. This is what he told me: "The High End is especially
interesting for small companies like Tacet. Direct customer
contact is becoming more and more important. This does not only
lead to increased understanding and enthusiasm by the customers
but also to more fruitful development and technical improvement
by the companies. This year's High End show in Munich once again
was very successful for us."
During
the show Andreas Spreer got assistance by his wife. It is always
very useful to have someone with you when you run a show.
The
Tacet booth was equipped with sufficient listening equipment:
Customers and prospects had the opportunity to listen to CDs
and to SACDs with the brand new Marantz SA 7000 KI which in
fact was introduced during the High End in Munich. The signal
was fed straight into a Black Cube Linear and then to a Sennheiser
HD 650. People were blown away by the stunning clarity and purity
of audio reproduction this system supplied.
And,
last but not least: many visitors not
only took the opportunity to listen but also bought records
during the High End show.
Andreas
Spreer heard the Black Cube Linear for the first time and is
not going to return it...
