Ulla
Scheu of Scheu Analog had many reasons to be in a good mood
as in the picture on the left. She debuted in Munich with her
products as far as the participation at a High End show is concerned
and had a very good start with some interesting contacts and
even some orders right during the show.
She definitely proved those people wrong who - after her husbands
tragic death in 2004 - had predicted that the company would
disappear from the audiophile scene. Now Scheu analog is doing
better than ever before with some new hot products and a new
professionalised appearance.
In front of Ulla Scheu the new top turntable model of the company
"Das Laufwerk No. 1" (the drive No. 1) a synonym for
Scheu's new approach to their line of turntables. Up to three
arms can be mounted to the unit. In fact Scheu is manufacturing
different arm models so even three different Scheu arms can
be used.
The
photograph on the right shows the Scheu "Premier"
a unit that - after the introduction of "Das Laufwerk"
- simply isn't the top of the line product among the Scheu turntables
any longer. On the Premier two arms are mounted: on the left
side the "Classic" and on the right side the "Cantus".
Both arms have their very special approach.
The
last Scheu image shows a very special ultrasonic cartridge cleaning
device mounted on a Scheu Premier together with a Cantus arm.
This device already belongs to Hannl turntable cleaning.
Scheu
Analog shared their booth with "Hannl turntable cleaning
machines" a company closely affiliated with Scheu. Hannl
also presented some new products and also had an overwhelming
first time in Munich: Their new US importer simply flooded them
with orders for their devices. The poeple at Hannl did a lot
of demonstrations at their booth during the show like Grischa
Drespa in the picture on the right.
Hannl
offers a wide range of turntable cleaning machines in very different
price ranges. On the right side in the left picture their top
model "Aragon" can be seen. Being familiar with conventional
cleaning machines and industrial electronics as well definitely
helped to build the reputation of the company.
The
image on the right shows a large variety of Hannl tuntable cleaning
machines. Some of them are available in many colours like pink
and flamingo called the "lady line" which got much
interest and was even featured on TV during the High End.
