Quart of Germany is one of the smaller but nonetheless highly
reputable companies in Germany at its high time evne manufacturing
condenser microphones for professional studio use. For about nine
months MB Quart is a subsidiary of Maxxonics, USA and continues
to concentrate on high quality audio products from car hifi to
preofessional headphones.
Andreas Spreer (left), owner of Tacet recordings, introduced me
to Thomas Sauer (right) who has been in the company MB Quart for
years and presented loudspeakers, electronics and headphones.
Of course for me especially the headphones were interesting although
they were placed in a really static display even inside
their sales boxes.
On the right you see the current top model "QP 400"
that we unpacked and which, upon a short test at the Tacet booth,
turned out to have a very comfortable fit and a transparent sound.
All this at a reaonable price.
We
left the two other models inside their sales boxes. I was told
that the QP 805 HS (seen below in the image on the left) is used
worldwide because of its ruggedness and is practicably undestroyable
and is also sold as an OEM product..
Hopefully next year MB Quart will have a display with a decent
source so that more people have the opportunity to try these headphones.
I was very surprised to find a "made in Germany" sticker
on the products.
