Running
a show like the one in Munich is a practically impossible task
if you're alone. Luckily enough I had my employee, Thomas Doerner
with me who was a great help and who is familiar with all our
products. He has been with my company for nearly two years now
and hopefully will be for another while to come.
The "release cadidate" of the Black Cube Linear USB
got
much interest. (image on the right side). I had a Thinkpad computer
with me and conected the unit via USB. Of course the USB connection
was for data transfer only to avoid any degradation in the sonic
performance. The files played were all uncompressed. People got
an idea how much fun desktop listening can actually be. The Black
Cube Linear USB has an an additional analog input and an automatic
switch with USB priorisation so the input selection is done automatically:
Each time when the buit in UAB DAC recognizes a valid USB audio
datastream the digital signal is fed through. Otherwise the analog
input is active for any other analog source.
The
Black Cube Decade was on display during last years High End show
as a kind of preliminary sample. Being in production now, people
recognize that this model is very close to our own top model,
the Silver Cube.
I had two other new phono stages with me: The new version of our
Black Cube phono stage which got a totally new audio board with
better parts, higher maximum gain, more features and far better
sound. You
see the new Black on the right side
in the image on the right. Behind the new Black Cube version the
previous board is shown for comparison. On the left side in thisPhotograph
is our brand new Black Cube Statement "not our statement
product but the statement product of its price class"
which comes packed with features, quality parts like a double
sided board and audiophile Burr Brown OPs and more.
