view from the entrance to the conference room where the Duesseldorf headphone meet 2007 was heldLast year the first inaugural meeting of headphone listeners took place in the Netherlands. This year great efforts were taken to get an even bigger meeting in Germany. And then it happened. All in alll about fifty people came to discuss, listen and exchange thoughts. I had asked my son David to take some photographs and luckily he came from Aachen to support me.

What I really appreciate about this kind of meetings is a veryDiscussion during the headphone meet 2007 in Duesseldorf friendly and relaxed atmosphere and the meet in Duesseldorf was not different from the one in The Netherlands in this respect. What I didn't like as far as this meeting was concerned was the overall background noise. I found it hard to listen and _really_ judge what I heard, simply because the acoustical S/N-ratio was far too bad...

Luckily for me the distance to travel was far shorter. Being located in Cologne it just took me about an hour to get to the hotel where the meeting took place.

The organizing team (Benjamin Seemann, Bernd Hehl and Reiner Grootenhuis, not on one of these pictures) made a very good job in finding a suitable location at reasonable cost. We had a mineral water "flatrate" practically endless coffee and a nice snack at lunchtime. Beyerdynamic and my own company contributed further by sponsoring students and attendees with less income. The other professional attendees contributed to the security cost.

concentrated listening on the headphone meet 2007 in DuesseldorfHere are some attempts to capture the atmosphere of this historic (in terms of headphone meets in Germany) event. Please understand that as a commercial attendee my report may be somewhat flavoured - and have fun! Headphones are getting more important in Germany...

Absent but not to be missed was any kind of snobism sometimes to be found with people involved in audio. On the other hand there could have been some more female attendees. (I guess there were only two.) So there's still something to be done. Again there were many rather young headphone listeners who came to be a part of the meeting. This is always positive.
